Description
Named after the Greek god of the seas, Poseidon was aged on board a ship and traveled thousands of miles before bottling. Portugal is a maritime country, and this wine was created with the spirit of generations of fishermen and adventurous explorers.
The deep red wine comes from old vines of the Douro Valley and was aged for 12 months in oak barrels before embarking on its voyage in the hold of the ship “Coimbra.” Poseidon is a well-structured wine with nicely integrated tannins, with its legance coming from the gentle rocking of the ship.
Its aroma is powerful and balsamic, dominated by bergamot, forest fruits (blueberry and blackberry) and top quality wood. The wine is very well balanced and with a lot of fresh fruit flavor.
Perfect to pair with Portuguese cuisine, meat dishes, and strong cheeses.
