Description
This is the very first release from Quinta do Bronze, a Douro Valley vineyard planted in Vale Mendiz, on the left bank of the Vale do Pinhão. The vineyard dates back to 1823 and is located at 300 meters elevation. Winemaker Francisco Baptista crafted this blend from traditional Portuguese grapes: Touriga Franca, Sousão, Touriga Nacional, and Tinto Cão. It has a deep, ruby red core, and an aroma that is intense and elegant. Aged 24 months in oak barriques and 12 months in the bottle. The wine is structured and balanced, fresh and vibrant. Excellent acidity. This wine will age well for years to come.
Pair with your most elegant cuisine, meats, and cheeses.
“This is the first release from a little-known quinta in a privileged position on the Pinhão river. The wine is very fine, impressively rich and full of dark tannins and further potential. The black fruits and acidity bring out the structure and will help the aging. Drink from 2022.” – Wine Enthusiast, November 2019
